Carrick Will Forced As a Defender

Sir Alex Ferguson was not too dizzy to face the crisis of back line. Instead of buying a defender, he will pull back Michael Carrick as a defender. Though Carrick usually played as a midfielder.

In the match against Barcelona on Thursday (8/8/2012) in Sweden, 31-year-old player began to play as a central defender and is quite successful. Goalkeeper David De Gea was saved from being broken.

"(Chris) Smalling have sidelined for three months. Thus, the current area of major concern is center back. Michael Carrick playing smart in Sweden. Placed as a defender he is able to provide the pass-sweet and is able to pass the ball well. He really fantastic," said Fergie at the club's official website on Thursday (08/09/2012).

MU is currently experiencing a crisis center defender. Before the injury Smalling, Johnny Evans and Phil Jones have also ruled out with the same problem.

"Smalling should get out and I can not give you the latest news about Jones, because so far we have not found what became the leading cause of injury. In addition, Evans will not be ready to compete at the beginning of the season. Although not severe, but he will not be ready," said Sir Alex Ferguson.
